Please be on time so games can start and finish on time.
Esky of cold drinks are available each week.
- Team playing the early game to put out the goals
- Teams playing the last game to put the goals away
Match Duration & Results
- All Games start and finish on the whistle
- 2 x 20 min Halves - 3 min Breaks.
- Both halves of a match begin with a centre pass taken alternatively by two teams. At the centre pass all players must be in their team's defensive halt of the pitch and the ball can be played in any direction.
Teams & Positions
- There are only six players per team
- NO Goalie required
- A minimum of 2 women or 2 under 15s must be on the field at any one time.
- Each time can use substitutes and can interchange unlimited number of times. Player cannot substitute during a penalty short corner. Time is not stopped during the game.
The Stick & Ball
All hockey sticks are held right handed. Indoor hockey players are not allowed to hit the ball so the sticks used are often lighter than those used for outdoor hockey, to allow for easier ball control and movement.
Using the body
Field players are not allowed to use their feet (or any other parts of their bodies) to voluntary play the ball.
All players are not allowed to use their body, or stick, to obstruct an opponent from playing the ball.
Ball in the air
In indoor hockey the ball can not be raised from the pitch. No flicking allowed.
Scoring Goals
A goal is scored when the ball is played within the circle (a D shaped arc around each goal) by an attacker and does not travel outside the circle before passing completely over the goal-line and under the cross bar. Goals can be scored by a field goal or penalty corner.
Field Goal
A field goal is a goal scored from open continuous play. If an attacker pushes the ball from the outside the circle and it goes directly into the goal, or is only touched by a deference stick on the way into the goal, it does not count as a goal.
Penalty Corner
A penalty corner is awarded to the attacking team for certain offenses by the defending team inside their defense circle or defense half of the pitch.
When the push in taken all attackers must be outside the circle. All other members of the defending team must be positioned behind the back-line on the opposite side of the goal from where the push in is being taken.
No shot at goal is permitted until the ball has traveled outside the circle.
Penalty Stroke
A penalty stoke equal a goal to the attaching team.
Umpiring
Teams to supply Two umpires as per fixture.
If your team does not supply an umpire then your side pas a fine of $10 each umpire not provided.
Forfeits
If your team forfeit a fine of $70 is incurred to cover Rink Fee.
